I walk into the teamroom, and the sound of laughter and talking fills my ears. I look around at all of the girls; the freshman chit chatting, the sophomores standing around, and the older girls acting like the youngest of all. I dress in layers getting ready to face the cold weather. As I walk outside, the wind pushes me back. The wind goes through me like knives. I can hear the cars going by and the smell of the downtown food as we start our warm-up. The pounding of feet, the heavy breathing; this is all part of my everyday after school routine. As I go inside to stretch I hear more laughter and talk, and the sound of our captain saying "SWITCH!" as we go into our different stretches. When we go back outside into the cold, you can smell cough drops. We begin to run, and I hear our coaches yelling out our times as we start our workout. I drink cold water and prepair for our next activity.

Jess,
You used vivid words that make me feel as if I was there at track practice with you. I like how you said that the older girls were acting like the youngest of them all. I cant really relate to you< because dance is so much different and we dont have to be outside in the cold. I feel bad for you guys but our track team is just simply amazing!
Wow! I'm really glad I don't do track. It's very descriptive and it feels as if I was there getting ready to run mysself. Glad I'm not cause I bet I would be complaining. LOL!
Wow. I can smell the sweat. I love that the oldest of the girls are acting like the youngest. I think that the older we get, the more we appreciate out lives before now. So we go back to quoting disney movies and acting like little kids. We don't need to impress anyone. The people we are around now have no bearing on the rest of our lives. The younger kids just don't get that.
Good use of images to make us feel the cold! I admire you for running when it's so cold outside.
